*UPDATE*
Thank you to all those who took part in W.O.W this term 👏
Our last Walk on Wednesday was yesterday. After the Easter break there will be a multitude of Glenview Leisure Club Passes to give out 🎉
1 guest pass for each child that took part, 1 10 visit pass for 1 child from each class and a 3 month membership up for grabs for one lucky pupil! 🍀 Huge thanks to the Glenview for their generosity.
*UPDATE* Well done everyone on a hugely successful first day of Walk (or cycle or scoot!) on Wednesdays! It was great to see an empty car park this morning in front of the school! Keep up the good work!
The Green-Schools Committee are very excited to announce that we will be re- launching our W.O.W Days (Walk on Wednesdays) on Wednesday 6th February. We want as many children as possible to walk to school on the day. There are lots of great reasons for this. Firstly, travelling by car causes lots of pollution, uses lots of resources and causes traffic problems. Also, by walking to school you can stay fit and healthy and be wide awake for the day ahead!
Don’t worry if you can’t walk on the day, there are lots of other ways to travel that are better for the environment. You can cycle, scoot or park ‘n’ stride. We want to make sure that all children walk safely to school so we encourage children to wear their hi-vis vests.
The Parents Association have been in touch with the Glenview Hotel who have kindly offered a free swimming pass to any and all students that walk, cycle or scoot to school on at least six of the nine Wednesdays between now and the Easter break. At the end of every month the class that has the most children walking, cycling or scooting to school will also win the ‘Golden Boot’ award.
So get those walking shoes on and we will see you all bright and early on Wednesday morning!
