‘BeeBots’
First Class were very excited when Mrs Ovington brought the ‘BeeBots’ to our classroom and explained to us about ‘coding’. We worked in pairs to give the ‘Beebots’ instructions. We had races and ‘Treasure hunts’. Programming the ‘Beebots’ got a big ‘thumbs up’!
‘Jake’s Grandad’
Jake’s Grandad, Damien, drove up from Wexford to talk to us about going to school in Sligo in the 1940’s. He was a mine of information and was able to recall so much from his childhood. The children were horrified when Damien talked about the dentist visiting their school and extracting teeth in a corner of the classroom!! Yikes!!
