During the month of April, 2nd Class have been learning about frogs. We made posters showing the different stages of development in its lifecycle. We also learned lots of new facts about the frog.
The frog …
- Is an amphibian. This means that it lives part of its life in water and part of its life on land.
- Is cold-blooded.
- Can’t live in salt water.
- Doesn’t drink water but rather absorbs it through its skin.
- Never closes its eyes.
- Can look in different directions at the same time. This is helpful because a frog can’t turn its head.
We listened to an Aboriginal story about Tiddalik the Frog and performed short plays based on this dream-time story.
