4th class integrated science and maths. They have been learning all about 2D shapes in maths. Their teacher set them a challenge – to find out which works better – a square parachute or a round parachute? The pupils had to predict which one would work better before testing them. They used kitchen roll, pillowcases, wool, sellotape, blutack and scissors to make their parachutes. Each group made a round one and a square one. The pupils then stood on chairs and dropped their parachutes to see which one worked best. At the end they filled in their results. It was a lot of fun!
